PSALM 56:3

"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you."

The summer rolled around and after multiple unsuccessful attempts, I had yet to pass my certification exam. The pressure mounted on me to pass the exam in order to keep my graduate assistant position. I started to question Him and His will. I did not understand what God was doing. What His purpose was in delaying me from reaching my goal. Why did God bring me this far to leave me? I was broken into pieces, felt like I had gone through the fire. I was scared that my dream was going to be taken away.

Psalm 56:3 When I am afraid I put my trust in you. I did just that and I remembered that He loves me, and He cares. That He will never put more on me than I can bear. His word said that He won’t and I believed it. I received it. I claimed it. The blessing was mine!

The athletic director of my new university had passed out a stand to place on our desks. It said “Expect Miracles”. The next time came around for me to take the exam and this time I did just that. I expected the miracle in His name. I took the exam and didn’t worry about it. Why worry when God is the captain of your ship? The author of your storm? The driver to your destination? Worry is a thief that steals your joy. Worrying does nothing but create unwanted stress. I let go of the pressure and weight I had put on myself. I finally let go turning it over to God to let God’s will be done. I let go of the pressure and weight I had put on myself. I let Him have His way. So just know, it ain’t over until God says it’s over. He never said it would be easy, but I know I’m a winner in the end. For Jesus defeated all of my enemies way before the fight began. The impossible was God’s chance to work a miracle.

The results were posted and when I was notified I had passed, the first thing I did was jump up and down and scream expressions of joy. I soon began to look up at the sky as I got down on my knees and thanked the man above for His grace. It is He and He alone that performs miracles. I knew then how important it was for me to trust in God and have a personal relationship with Him. God uses difficulties to shape spirituality. Just as much as I prayed for victory in my situation, I thanked Him for blessing me for what I prayed for. When God blesses you with what you prayed for, don’t forget to thank Him when you receive it. For if it had not been for him on my side and His everlasting grace, I would not have achieved the ultimate goal of being a certified athletic trainer.
